1. Introduction

Yojana Mitra (“the app”) is developed by Devikon Inc. (“we,” “our,” or “us”). It is an unofficial, offline-first Android app that helps you discover government welfare schemes — from all States and Union Territories as well as central (Government of India) schemes — that you may be eligible for. This Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not collect, and how your information is handled.

Unofficial app: Yojana Mitra is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any State Government, any Union Territory administration, or the Government of India. The official portals — including myscheme.gov.in — remain the authoritative sources for scheme information and applications.

Summary: There are no accounts and no sign-in. Your eligibility profile (such as age, gender, income band, category, occupation, land holding, student status, family size, and your chosen State) is stored only on your device and is never transmitted. If you opt in to online matching, only anonymous eligibility facets — never your identity — are sent. The scheme catalogue is public information. We store no personal data on our servers.

2. No Accounts, No Sign-In

Yojana Mitra does not ask you to create an account, register, or sign in. It does not collect your name, phone number, email address, Aadhaar, or any other government credential. There is no login of any kind, and we store no government credentials whatsoever.

3. Your Eligibility Profile Stays On Your Device

To suggest schemes you may qualify for, the app lets you build an eligibility profile. This may include:

  • Age and gender
  • Income band
  • Social category
  • Occupation and student status
  • Land holding
  • Family size
  • The State or Union Territory you select

This profile is stored only on your device and is used to match schemes locally, on-device. It is never transmitted to our servers and is not shared with anyone. You can view, edit, or clear it at any time.

4. Optional Online Matching (Anonymous Facets)

Some scheme matching can be performed online for freshness and coverage. This is opt-in. When you choose online matching, the app sends only anonymous eligibility facets — for example, an income band or category flag — needed to filter the public catalogue. These facets are not linked to your identity, device account, or any persistent personal identifier, and they are not stored against a person. If you do not opt in, matching runs entirely on-device.

5. Data That Leaves Your Device

Only the following ever leaves your device, and none of it identifies you:

  • Public scheme catalogue requests: the app fetches the public list of government schemes through a Supabase proxy over myScheme.gov.in. These requests retrieve public information; they do not carry your personal profile.
  • Anonymous eligibility facets: only if you opt in to online matching, as described above.
  • Optional “report an inaccuracy” submissions: if you choose to flag a scheme as outdated or incorrect, your report about that scheme is sent to us. Please do not include personal information in the report; it contains no personal data unless you add it yourself.
  • Anonymous analytics: usage and diagnostic data that contains no names, no profile fields, and no personal identifiers (see below).

6. Anonymous Analytics

To keep the app reliable and improve it, we may collect anonymous usage and diagnostic data. None of it identifies you or contains your eligibility profile.

  • Usage events: which screens are opened and which features are used, device type, and OS version.
  • Crash & error reports: anonymous stack traces and app state at the time of a crash or non-fatal error, so we can fix problems.

This analytics data contains no names, no eligibility-profile values, and no personal identifiers.

7. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do NOT require or store any account, sign-in, or password.
  • We do NOT store any government credentials.
  • We do NOT transmit or store your eligibility profile on any server.
  • We do NOT collect your name, phone number, email, or Aadhaar.
  • We do NOT sell or share your personal information with third parties.
  • We do NOT access your device contacts, photos, or precise location.

8. Data Residency

Because your eligibility profile never leaves your device, it resides only on your device, under your control. The public scheme catalogue and any optional inaccuracy reports are handled through our Supabase infrastructure. We hold no personal data tied to you on our servers.

9. India's DPDP Act, 2023

The app is designed to minimise data processing: it operates without accounts and keeps your profile on-device. We process only anonymous analytics and, if you opt in, anonymous eligibility facets, on the lawful basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving the app. Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, you may contact our grievance contact below with any privacy concern.

10. Children's Privacy

Yojana Mitra is intended for adults exploring government schemes and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Your Controls

  • Clear your profile: open Settings → Eligibility profile → Clear to erase it from your device.
  • Clear cached schemes: open Settings → Offline cache → Clear to remove the cached catalogue.
  • Opt out of online matching: keep online matching off to run everything on-device.
  • Uninstall: removing the app deletes all of its local data, including your profile and cache.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision; material changes will be noted in the app or on this page.
